May Lim, PianoThe Arensky Piano Trio began playing together in December 2022. They debuted their first performance as a piano trio with Anton Arensky's Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor. They have also performed Astor Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, pieces by Robert Schumann and Samuel Coleridge Taylor as part of a larger quartet and quintet, and other assorted repertoire. Eugene Kim, violin, is a DC native, Navy veteran, and concertmaster of the DC Concert Orchestra. He received his early violin training from Viktor Danchenko at Peabody Institute and continued his studies with David Russell at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Eugene splits his time working in cybersecurity for the Defense Industrial Base and playing fiddle and keyboard with the Rock Creek Kings. At home he dotes on his cat Penelope, who graciously tolerates every practice.Philip Hopko, cello, performs with DC Concert Orchestra, Washington Sinfonietta, Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and DCCM chamber music groups. Philip plays on a 1924 American-made cello from Concord, Mass.May Lim, piano, is a piano teacher and accompanist in the DMV area. She has played in master classes for esteemed concert pianists Orion Weiss, Martina Filjak, and Jonathan Feldman, and she performed Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Major as a soloist with the DC Concert Orchestra in 2025. Beyond her music career, May works as a policy consultant specializing in criminal justice reform.
